Your early sedan’s front suspension is mounted to a large Subframe, which 17-1200

is, in turn, mounted to the unibody via four bonded rubber mounts. Once
those mounts begin to fail, your cat’s handling and directional stability will

su er and the only solution is to replace the mounts.

MK I & MK II Rear Torque Arm Bushings

Compared to contemporary American cars, the MK I/MK II solid rear axle

was quite well located, with a Panhard rod and two torque arms. But like the
front suspension subframe, once those bushings start to fail, handling begins

to su er. We o er standard-type torque arm bushings and a polyurethane
upgrade. If your mounting hardware is too rusty to trust, we make a kit of Magnetic Gearbox Drain

replacement bolts, nuts and washers.
