               GOP-requested witness rejects Trump 'conspiracy theories'

            WASHINGTON       (AP)   —

            testify, the former U.S. spe-
            cial envoy to Ukraine spoke
            up  instead  for  Democrat
            Joe  Biden  in  Tuesday's
            impeachment       hearings,
            rejecting  "conspiracy  the-
            ories"  embraced  by  Presi-
            dent  Donald  Trump  and
            some of his allies.
