Manager
The National Archeological Museum of Aruba (NAMA) is an organization that focuses on
maintaining, preserving and protecting the Aruban culture, archeology and therefore its
tangible heritage. Furthermore, it strives to develop the knowledge thereof amongst the local “International
community as well as the international community. Currently, the NAMA is in its transition
phase after which it will become a member of the Fundacion Museo Arubano (FMA) already
supervising 4 museums. The NAMA is looking for a suitable candidate for the function of
Manager.
Position
The Manager is amongst others responsible for the preparation of the overall strategy,
including the policies, which should lead to the realization of the objectives of the
organization, as well as executing the daily a airs of the foundation.
The Manager of NAMA is supported by the sta of the museum and reports directly to the
Director of the FMA after its transition.
The Manager is responsible for:
- Developing, executing and monitoring of the overall strategy and policy of the
organization.
- Developing and realizing the overall vision for the museum.
- Maintaining the cohesion and consistency within the museum.
- The acquisition and management of the nancial resources.
- Continuity of ongoing projects.
- Stimulating an innovate, transparent and proactive organizational culture.
Pro le
• At minimum a relevant degree in higher professional education (“HBO level”)
• Knowledge and/or experience with finance
• At least 5 years of relevant working experience in a senior management position
• Evident experience in managing personnel and leadership
• Knowledge of relevant laws and legislation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Papiamento, Spanish
and Dutch
• Driven by a high degree of social responsibility
• Affinity with the Aruban culture and heritage is a pre.
• Good social, communicative skills and a team player .
• Flexible and the ability to handle stressful situations.
