Dear One

ORANJESTAD - One can gauge his or her own inner state of being whether turbulence
or serene by noticing our reaction or response to any given situation triggered by an-
other human being or circumstance that one faces through our daily lives. If we act
on impulse at a situation or a person, without a pause, this is called reactivity, which
we may unknowingly be doing that creates turbulence or anxiety within ourselves
and may manifest as well on the exterior of ourselves.
Being reactive to situations may not bring the right action needed for it as the imme-
diate action didn’t arise from a serene state but a more chaotic state of being and
thus forms the outcome of the situation. Response is when one gathers oneself by
pausing for some moments before acting towards what is needed in a situation, dur-
ing this pause one may receive an intuitive response from within on what one need
to do at the moment. If no response occurs from within only means that it may not be
necessary to respond at the moment but may arise at the moment is needed. One
can decipher between a reaction and a response this way and the outcome would
only have the flavor of how one chose ones course of action from.q

Suresh Mirchumal is a spiritual writer. “Well, you can categorize it like that, al-
though I don’t call myself one. These thoughts come in effortlessly.” His aim is in
a way to reach out to whoever gets inspired or has an eye opening event within
them that may transcend their current state of consciousness. “Or let’s say cur-
rent emotional state too. If one in a thousand benefits, that is already great.”
Due to the current world state, lots of struggles and stresses, we seem to lose
touch with that inner peace that we long for, Suresh explains. “I wish to ease that
through these small articles or tidbits.” You will find his tidbits in Aruba Today from
now on, mostly on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
