Blizzard and Chinese licenser NetEase

will end their 14-year-old agreement

ACTIVISION Blizzard and NetEase have severed their 14-year partner-
ship, which means that games like World of Warcraft and Overwatch 2

will soon be unavailable in China. NetEase Games executive shared on his
personal LinkedIn last week that it was because of “a jerk” in Activision
Blizzard.

The end of the two company’s partnership was officially confirmed on
Wednesday by a statement from NetEase. On the same day, Blizzard
also released a statement saying, the services for World of Warcraft,
Hearthstone, StarCraft, and Diablo 3 would end on Janyary 23,2023.

Diablo Immortal has a separate long-term agreement thus that will
continue to be available.
