Minister of Culture Attends Unveiling
of ‘Mi Forsa’ by Local Artist Paul Wong
RECENTLY, the Minister of Culture, Xiomara Maduro, was one of the
guests invited by Artisa to witness the unveiling of the mural by local artist
Paul Wong. The afternoon began with a tour led by Tito Bolivar, during
which they visited a mosaic artwork at the beginning of Omaira Silva
Boulevard. This piece, a beautifully crafted mosaic octopus, is a lovely
addition to the streets of San Nicolas.
Following this, the tour continued to the next stop, which was a 3D mural
featuring the name of Aruba, created by our local artist Robert Solognier,
better known as Ice One. This artwork is captivating, as it consists of various
components representing our country, such as the San Nicolaas store, the
Alto Vista Chapel, and the Lighthouse, to name a few. Undoubtedly, this
mural adds a touch of uniqueness to what makes our country special.
Finally, the tour concluded with the unveiling of Paul Wong’s mural titled
‘Mi Forsa,’ featuring the coat of arms of Aruba
shaped in a way that the lion comes to life, with
the words ‘un tin nada pa kibre’ (there’s nothing
that can break it). This emphasizes the strength
of our nation. Minister Maduro expressed her
gratitude to Artisa for the invitation and thanked
all the artists who contributed to the Aruba Art
Fair, creating unique artworks once again for all
visitors to admire. An invitation goes out to all
those who have not yet visited San Nicolas to
come and admire these latest artworks.
