STATUTORY MANAGING DIRECTOR
The position
It is the task of the Statutory Managing Director to give strategic guidance and direction to
ensure the achievement of the Strategic Tourism Master Plan 2015-2020. The long term
goals in this plan include promoting Curaçao, encouraging tourism development, and
fostering an understanding of the importance and economic benefits of the tourism industry.
The candidate
CTDF is looking for a visionary and inspirational leader with excellent interpersonal skills
and organizational expertise. The successful implementation of the Master Plan requires
a restructured organization that involves inclusiveness, a business culture, and
accountability as its most salient organizational values. The Statutory Managing Director
is expected to guide this change process. The candidate should meet the following criteria:
• At least a Master’s degree in a management or marketing field;
• Minimum 10 years of (tourism) industry experience and at least 5 years in
high level positions;
• Ability to think and formulate strategic objectives and translate these objectives
into operational actions;
• Skilled in organizational development, personnel management, marketing,
financial and resource development, and strategic planning;
• Excellent interpersonal skills;
• Experience with transformation processes;
• Exhibits integrity, credibility, and commitment to the organization;
• Excellent oral and written command of English. Dutch and Spanish are a plus;
• Affinity with the Dutch Caribbean culture.
