3. The need to diversify in hard currencies - Emerging market wealth products are normally only
available in one currency - typically the currency of the country where the product provider is
domiciled. In all cases these emerging market currencies are linked to the strength of their
respective economies with potentially big fluctuations in price movement against the world’s
major hard currencies. The Isle of Man does not impose any restrictions on the currencies in
which policies or investments can be held, or in which underlying investments or deposits may
be made - this includes both fiat and digital currencies, and has a raft of legislation and
guidance to govern, and protect, the handling of them
4. Choice of global investments - Investment linked life products in the Isle of Man may utilise
the world's leading fund managers and can include all listed and unlisted securities, across all
asset classes and any geographical regions. This differs greatly from domestic wealth products
in emerging markets where choice is usually limited and mainly focused on their respective
market
5. Virtually tax free for non-residents - Policyholders benefit as their holdings may grow and
rollover free of tax in the Isle of Man
6. Portability, flexibility and continuity – investments from the Isle of Man offer the ability to
continue, contribute, withdraw and manage your investments from anywhere in the world
providing portability, flexibility and continuity of an investor’s portfolio and financial plans
7. Exceptional internet connectivity and reliability – The Island is home to one of the most
advanced internet structures in the world, as is demonstrated by its being the home of many
of the top international E-gaming companies. This ensures that the Isle of Man is well placed
to be the home of accounts accessed and managed via the internet through secure and reliable
connections
“90% of all cross-border life companies are based on the Isle of Man”.
