A. Susana is having an interview with a company. Read her
interview section and answer the questions below.
Interviewer: What skills and experiences do you have that are relevant for
this position?
Susana: I think the position of sales assistant requires somebody who has
got good customer service skills. In my last job at Alton Towers Themepark I
was responsible for selling souvenirs, so I am used to dealing with
customers. Initially I was only responsible for operating various rides, but as
I can speak both Italian and English fluently, and have a good command of
French, I was asked to work in the gift shop instead. This period of
employment also gave me valuable experience of managing people, as after
two weeks in the shop I was promoted to senior sales assistant, where I
managed two other employees. When I was at
university in Turin, before moving to England last summer, I used to be the
captain of the female volleyball team, which included managing the team and
also the finances for playing fees. I think the leadership skills that I have
developed both at university and in my last job are very relevant for this
position. So, to sum up, I feel I am a highly effective communicator, fluent in
Italian and English and very proficient in French. I can work well under
pressure and am able to delegate effectively. Having worked with a variety
of different teams I would say I have a proven track record in teamwork.
