WILD AND WONDERFUL UNIT 9
LIFE COMPETENCIES
We all belong to communities - our family, our school, our town, our country -
and there is always something everybody thinks should be better for that
community. It’s easy to do nothing and wait for other people to help. Helping
our community isn’t always easy, but it feels good.
4 Work in pairs. Choose a community. Write all the
difficulties you can think of for people in that
community. Use the examples to help you.
Your country - homeless people ...
The world - places with no clean w ater...
Your town/local area - rubbish on the streets ...
Your school - books in your classroom need organising...
Your family - the car is dirty ...
5 Exchange and share your ideas with another pair
who wrote about a different community. Then
write ideas on ways your class can help with these
problems.
