Preface

All praise is due to Allah SWT, by whose grace this module, Speaking at Length, has been completed. I
would also like to express my sincere appreciation to the team of writers who contributed their time,
expertise, and dedication to developing this module.

This module is designed for intermediate EFL learners who aim to improve their speaking fluency and
confidence in real-life communication. It plays an important role in helping learners move beyond short
responses toward extended, meaningful conversations.

Speaking at Length offers practical guidance on various communication functions—such as making small
talk, expressing opinions, handling disagreements, handling disagreements, proposing solutions, and
building strong arguments. With a blend of structured speaking activities, functional language, and
conversation strategies, learners are trained to speak more clearly, effectively, and naturally.

Targeted for use in classrooms or guided self-study, the module equips learners to build arguments, engage
in discussions, and apply useful expressions in everyday contexts.

We hope this module serves as a helpful tool for learners and teachers alike, and that it contributes
