PRONUNCIATION: Past verbs ending with -d/-ed

In English, past tense verbs with -d/–ed ending are pronounced in three different ways:
/t/ : If the last letter in the infinitive verb form is unvoiced (we make the sound with air, no
vibration).

/d/ : If the last letter in the infinitive verb form is voiced (we make the sound with vibration).
/Id/ : special rule! If a verb in the infinitive form ends in /t/ or /d/ (Past regular verbs ending

in /Id/ are ALWAYS TWO syllables!).
