depression.
Emile : Depression? Really? Come on, it is not a depression. It is just a bad day.
Steve : So, how do you define depression?
Emile : Well, depression is something that permeates our life. It can go for years.
Steve : What can it look like?
Emile : The symptoms can be varied, such as, body aches, exhausted body, feeling
abandoned and desolate, struggling to sleep at all, and increased or decreased
appetite.
Steve : Oh really? I have not felt it yet. So, I am not depressed, I think.
Emile : Yeah, that is right. Depression can be really difficult and completely debilitating.
Steve : So, how can we help someone with depression?
Emile : I think, the most important thing is we can help them through understanding.
Steve : What do you mean by understanding?
Emile : We need to be there. We can give a call, pop by their house or check in them. Just
being there and seeking to understand their situation can be the most helpful.
Steve : How about going to the therapist, like psychiatry or psychologist?
Emile : Yeah, you are right. We have to encourage them to get help from the expert
because they can be assessed there. The psychiatry or psychologist will screen them
by using some questions to measure their condition. Moreover, those experts will
give them the best treatment based on the result revealed by their responses. So, if
you want to know whether you have depression or not you have to go to psychiatry
or psychologist to consult about it.
