2. Scenario 2
A patient is going to have a cardiac surgery. He wants to know how long he will stay in the hospital,
what exercises he’ll need to perform after surgery and why.

3. Scenario 3
A patient has had thoracic surgery. She wants to be informed about how to care for incision and how

to prevent skin infections.
4. Scenario 4

A patient has awakened from thoracic surgery. She is wondering about when the chest tube will be
removed.

5. Scenario 5
A patient has had heart surgery. She is afraid that she cannot control her emotions after surgery when
already home.
