Language Focus: Future Tense and Conditional One
FUTURE TENSE
Use the future with “will” to talk about an event in the future that you have just decided to do.
I think I will …

I think I will ask senior nurses to teach me how to use new equipment.
The future with "going to" is used to express events you have already planned in the future and your
intentions for the future.
I am going …
I am going to continue developing my skills through several workshops and trainings.
I will do my best to help my patients if I work as a nurse.
CONDITIONAL ONE
The future real conditional (also called conditional 1) describes what you think you will do in a specific
situation in the future. It is different from other real conditional forms because, unlike the present or
the past, you do not know what will happen in the future. Although this form is called "real", you are
usually imagining or guessing about the future. It is called "real" because it is still possible that the
action might occur in the future.
If / When ... simple present ..., ... simple future ...
If I work as a nurse, I will do my best to help my patients.
