Preface

All praise and gratitude are due to Allah, the Most Gracious and Most Merciful, for His countless blessings
that have enabled the creation of this module, English for Nursing. This module is designed to support
nursing students preparing for the Generalist Nurse Certification conducted by the National Professional
Certification Agency (BNSP) through the Professional Certification Agency (LSP) at Universitas
               Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta.

In today’s globalized healthcare environment, the ability to communicate effectively in English is an
essential skill for nursing professionals. English is not only vital for engaging with patients and their families
but also for collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and participating in community outreach
programs. Recognizing this need, the Nursing Department of UMY, in collaboration with the Language
Training Center (LTC) UMY, has developed this module to bridge the gap between nursing expertise and
               English communication skills.
The content of this module covers key areas of nursing communication, including medical terminology,
report writing, patient interviews, patient discharge, patient positioning, and others. Additionally, it
integrates real-life scenarios, role-plays, and case studies to provide students with authentic and practical
learning experiences. The module also includes preparation exercises for multiple-choice-question quizzes,
equipping students with the confidence and skills required to excel in the certification process and their
               professional careers.

This module is a collective effort of the dedicated contributors from the LTC UMY and the Nursing
Department of UMY. Their expertise and insights have enriched the material, ensuring its relevance and
               practicality for nursing students.

We acknowledge that learning is a continuous process. Therefore, this module is open to future
development and improvement to remain aligned with evolving professional requirements and educational
               standards.

May this module serve as a valuable resource for all students and contribute to the development of
               competent and compassionate nursing professionals.
