Health promotion uses community based strategies to aim at increasing positive
health behaviour that lead to reducing disease burden and lower death rate. The
strategy focuses on the role of an individual to their own life, how partaking in
physical activity, not smoking and less alcohol overuse and affect your health in a
positive way. This benefits the community because less drunk and driving accidents
happen in the community, alcohol abuse leads to rape, sexual abuse and molesting
of women and paying attention to your alcohol consumption can prevent such things
in our community.

Some benefits of health promotion is these social changes that happen during this
process. Social change health promotion focuses on strengthening strengthening
and making the community one. those strengthened the community's decision-
making processes which brings a positive change to the physical and environmental
health of the people. Those empowers the people in the community and encourages
them to take care of each other and their natural habitat.

Health promotion also encourages the government to provide people in low income
areas with free health institutes so that people must not travel long distances to get
to a clinic or care center. This reduces death rates, premature deaths and disease
spread as the local clinics also educate these people about such aspects of life.

Although health promotion can be beneficial to communities there are some factors
and challenges that influences health promotion and most of these challenges are
experienced in low- and middle-income communities.

The factors include poverty, access to health, drugs, child heads, the type of house
we reside in and education.

Poverty plays a major role in the health of our low- and middle-income communities
as most por people do not care about how healthy they are but care about where
they are going to get their next meal( healthy or unhealthy). This also gives majority
these people mental health problems and affects health promotion in these
communities.

Poverty sets of a chain of events to happen and from my view it is always drug use.
Most poor people find ways to get out of situations they are in my using or selling
drugs. The use of drugs leads to some of their organs not functioning well which
leads to slow painful death and weak immune systems that are unable to fight
against even simple illness such as flu. They also sell drugs to make money and
most of their customers are kids that are testing new drugs or their regular
teenagers.

Child heads are children that took the role of being the breadwinners of the family
due to different reasons such as death of parents, living with their grandparents,
poverty or running away from home. These children have different ways of making
money like selling drugs but the most normal one for female child heads is dating
men that can provide for them or prostitution. This takes a toll on their mental and
physical health as they end up getting diseases and getting physically abused by
these men.
