KEEP AN EYE ON EMPLOYEE STRESS LEVELS
83% of U.S. workers suffer from some level of work-related stress, costing businesses up to $300 billion yearly. Don’t forget that this includes your stress levels.
High-stress levels lead to higher absenteeism, higher healthcare costs, and more workplace accidents. Is your workplace contributing to stress levels in any of the following ways:
1. High turnover

So, how can you monitor employee stress levels? Signs of high stress include:
• Increased absenteeism. It’s perfectly reasonable to take a mental health day now and then (and should be encouraged, especially if the person’s work is suffering), but taking more sick time without an apparent reason for it can be a warning sign.
• They are spending time fixing personal issues, and talking to coworkers about private issues.
• Increased use of caffeine or nicotine.
• Consumption of junk food, especially amongst women.
• Fatigue at work, which may reflect sleep disruption.
