Supervision of 21 School-Based Interventionists who provided preventative services to at-risk students. Supervision included assistance with problem-solving and direct intervention strategies, communication and coordination with school district administrators and county social service staff, staff discipline and performance issues, Minnesota Department of Education reporting and quality assurance requirements, renewing contracts and negotiating budgets with county social service agencies and school districts.
• School Based Interventionist August 1997-July 2007
Provided direct service to students within the Mahnomen Public School District located on the White Earth Indian Reservation in Northwestern Minnesota. Duties
included individual and small group counseling for at-risk students; Truancy tracking; organizing and implementing classroom presentations on relevant topics such as anger management, self-confidence, goal-setting, peer relationships, alcohol and drug prevention, and bullying; Organizing and implementing school-wide initiatives to promote positive environment; Completing reports for Minnesota Department of Education and local social service agency; Coordinate with local tribal programs, public health, law enforcement, social services and child welfare to provide services to children and families in need.
