ABSTRACT

Social media is a tool that was created to facilitate interactive social
interaction and facilitate information distribution. One of the benefits of social media
is used as a medium for delivering dental and oral health educational content. This
research aimed to describe the knowledge of dental and oral health by social media
users in adolescents. This was a descriptive quantitative study. The research was
conducted in November-December 2022. There were 101 samples obtained by using
Slovin formula with random sampling methode. Data presented in the form of diagram
base at the frequency distribution. The results showed that knowledge level of social
media users on dental and oral health in adolescents at Senior High School of 10
Padang was good (89,1%), moderate as many as (9,9%), and bad as many as (1,0%).
This research concludes that the social media users' knowledge about dental and oral
health in adolescents at Senior High School of 10 Padang were categorized as good.
