1. Family Reunion Dinner
The family reunion dinner is the most important
meal for Chinese around the world. Usually eaten
during the eve of the Chinese Lunar New Year,
majority of Chinese will have reunion dinner at
home instead of a restaurant.
2. Shou Sui
On this very special day, all family members will
get together and stay up late to see the New
Year in. Some believe that children who Shou Sui
will increase the longevity of the parents
3. Red Packets
Given by married couples and elders to young
children. It is believed that the money in the red
packet, will protect the children from evil.
4. Spring Cleaning
Signifying “removing the old and welcoming of
the new”, people will do a thorough cleaning of
the house to welcome the New Year.
