PLUM DIGITAL LEARNING ACADEMY (PDLA)
Families seeking a virtual learning experience for their child may want to explore the Plum Digital Learning Academy. The PDLA program offers students the opportunity to work on their coursework asynchronously in a virtual setting. This would allow students and families to create a schedule that fits their family’s needs while ensuring a continued progression through their child’s grade level core subjects. To learn more about asynchronous learning and how it differs from synchronous learning, click here. The PDLA program will be utilizing the Accelerate Education platform for students in grades K-6. A Plum Borough School District teacher will monitor each PDLA course while students work at their own pace to complete assignments/courses virtually. Each grade level is broken down into four courses - Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. Students would also be required to complete an online Physical Education course if they are not taking one in person. Each PDLA course contains modules that are broken down into smaller lessons - similar to a classroom lesson in a brick and mortar school building. To learn more about these courses and a breakdown of the Accelerate program you can view this short video clip. To see a comprehensive breakdown of each course and the activities within, please view this video. For more information on the Accelerate platform, please visit the PDLA website. We are excited to present this unique opportunity of our own cyber program which will benefit our students academically, socially, and emotionally by remaining connected to the Plum Borough School District. We look forward to ensuring that each student is exceptionally prepared for success! If you are interested in the PDLA option for your child or if you have any additional questions regarding PDLA, please contact Mr. Preston Hartman, Director of K-12 Virtual Learning.

Holiday Park Reading League (HPRL) is established to motivate students to read more with accuracy and improve reading comprehension. We need everyone on the team, including all students, parents, and staff, in order to make this an individual, class, and school wide success!
