We also need to make Aid professionals take a long hard look in the mirror.
Too many have become convinced of their own ‘worthiness’. For far too many, what was originally a
career choice of an ‘ethical profession’ has now seen them become corporate ‘empire builders’.

Many need to realise there is a difference between being in the Aid Business and the Business of Aid.
Yes, International Aid needs to make use of the organisational and management skills associated with

the corporate sector. But the mission of INGO should always be to create a local infrastructure that no
longer needs the presence of the INGO.
