Welcome to Scottsdale and our 19th Annual Summit!
Dear Program Business Colleagues:
The winds are shifting in the insurance marketplace with pricing continuing to firm while the markets reposition their
portfolios in response to years of prolonged surplus capacity and significant CAT activity. While the industry is still flush
with capital, we’re seeing hard earned wisdom start to steer capacity with more responsible pricing and CAT strategy.
This, of course, is opportunity for program administrators and carriers alike and there’s no better forum than the
Summit to explore your best path to success!
For 19 years, Target Markets has been the platform for program administrators and the carriers that trade in the program
space to network, learn from each other, and forge partnerships that have allowed the program business sector to thrive.
This meeting is set to be our largest gathering of program professionals ever and the agenda we’ve arranged will not disappoint.
At the 19th Annual Summit, you can look forward to several thought-provoking sessions and speakers including:
• Our review of the 2019 State of the Program Business Study – Discover how program business is doing and
what the trends and benchmarks are for your peers. We’ve assembled a terrific panel of your fellow program
administrators, carriers and Advisen’s expert, Jim Blinn.
• Is Cognitive Bias Impacting your Decisions? Learn about the latest research in this area with what promises
to be a fascinating discussion with Lindsey Tepfer, Neuroscience Lab Research Associate at Temple University
and Arthur Seifert, President of Glatfelter Program Managers.
• The Compelling Case for Independent Actuarial Analysis – Rely on the carrier’s work or fund your own
research? A panel discussion will explore the options.
• PA Access to Third Party Capital Providers – If you’ve ever considered accessing non-traditional capital,
this panel presentation will spark your interest.
• The Management Discipline of Listening – Do your managers/leaders have a listening deficit? Learn about
impacts of poor listening skills and good technics for enhancing yours.
Our guest speakers include former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, along with Prem Watsa,
Chairman and CEO of Fairfax Financial Holdings. Both are assured to give insightful and interesting presentations
that are relevant to the times and our industry.
On behalf of the TMPAA Advisory Board and the entire Target Markets team, I hope you find this meeting to be an
engaging and beneficial experience and we’re looking forward to a productive session together.
Sincerely,
Christopher L. Pesce
