Internship at Schmidtschule

The student at Schmidtschule is in the centre of the educational process. In
addition to the academic subjects taught at school, the administration with its
staff of teachers have put ahead to enforce the student’s personality in order to
be ready to coop with society outside the school. The internship programme is
one of these programmes that are used to help the student to be ready for the
outside world, or even find her future job.

The internship programme has started in the school during the academic year
22017-2018 in which Grade 10 students, Tawjihi section, have to go into
institutions for 10 scholastic days, i.e., they do not come to school but they go
                         to those institutions.

The scope of this programme is to let the student discover another world, beside
that of the school, in which she would discover herself and even what does she
really want to do/to study in the future.

The places that the students are sent to include: kindergartens, houses for the
elderly people, pediatric wings in hospitals and schools for special education.
The internship coordinator holds few lectures on the internship activity and
explains to them the kind of work and people they are expecting to work / deal
                         with.

This year, Grade 10 students went to three different places: 4 of them went to
St. Charles Kindergarten; another 4 went to “Mother of Sorrows Home for the SEIT 1886
Elderly People” and 11 students went to “Annour (the Light) School for Special
                         Education”.
                                                                                                                                                                        SCHMIDT-SCHULE
The class teacher accompanied by the programme’s coordinator visited the
students and listened to the administrations of the different institutions for their Jerusalem
feedback on the students and the programme itself. The outcome was awesome.

At the end the students’ feedback was also astonishing a some of them have Nablus Road 97
