P. 12
Peter Burton started composing music from an early age and still has
some manuscripts from when he was around ten! His early work was
mainly for piano with a few choral pieces such as for the school carol
competition. There was also the inevitable rock band song! Finding
faith at University gave his compositions a Christian focus. Songs
and, increasingly, choral pieces became the main output since then.
Peter is currently a member of Dundonald Church in Wimbledon
where he runs the Dundonald Church Choir. The choir is around
25 singers and enjoys singing a wide variety of music including
Peter's compositions. He is also a member of Wimbledon Choral
Society where he has a good set of friends who are often invited
(cajoled!) to help out singing in the church choir. This is very much
appreciated!
Acknowledgements
There are so many people to thank for this recording so inevitably I
will miss some. However, I give special thanks to those who gave me
the idea to record, to the choir for persevering in learning the music
and delivering on the day, to Dundonald Church for supporting me
in this project and to all those who helped out during the recording
including a great recording team! Finally, my thanks must go to my
parents for giving me the musical upbringing and to God for giving
me the songs.
