complain about having to stop what they are doing to have to go to another parent's home.
Difficult kids will oppose doing anything they do not want to do. In the here and now if they do not want to stop playing Roblox they are going to say they do not want to go some place else even if a parent is there. They might say it's boring in the other parent's home. They might say they hate the other parent when really what they hate is having to stop what they are doing. They might say the other parent yells, hits or otherwise abuses them—when it is completely untrue.
Does that mean that kids do not have legitimate complaints of this type? Of course they might. All I am saying is that when you combine temperament with some of the other factors we will be discussing there are times when temperament is the factor that is most responsible for parental rejection—not alienation.
