Page 8 - sharks
P. 8
WHAT DOES A SHARK EAT?
Almost all sharks are meat eaters (carnivores). They mostly eat a diet of fish and sea mammals, such as seals. Some are even known to prey on turtles and seagulls. Their super senses have made them a top predator of the sea! Sharks have a very strong sense of smell and good vision.
Most will hunt in the early morning or late evening when there is less light. This allows them to blend into the shadows in order to stalk their prey. All sharks have powerful detachable jaws that can be thrust forward to catch their prey!
