Fern remembers: "Helen had so many qualities that I admired – she was a brilliant person with 65
outstanding organizational and leadership skills. She was wise beyond words. She was an
example for us to follow. I could trust her with my life. Helen led in neighborhood activities such
as our Wednesday morning coffee klatch; she organized a little play group for the 2 and 3 year
old children in our neighborhood; and she held classes for the neighbors who wanted to learn
how to do macramé."
