     About PFOA
PFOA is the most common of these PFAS compounds and has
been detected in drinking water sources across the country.
Middlesex Water has been testing for some PFAS as part of
the USEPA Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring program.
We have been transparent in reporting PFAS detections
including PFOA in our annual Consumer Confidence Reports
(CCR) since 2008. New Jersey set an enforceable limit for
           PFOA in 2020.
Utilities were required to start monitoring for PFOA and PFOS
and report quarterly results to the state after January 1,
           2021.
