Interception of civilian aircraft will be avoided. Normally it is only about
identification. However, it may be necessary to direct you back to the planned
flight path or away from prohibited, restricted or danger areas. It may also be
necessary to guide you down to landing.
Normally the intercepting aircraft will take up a position to your left and visually
give instructions.
You must then immediately:
1. Follow these instructions and any respond to the visual signals.
2. If possible notify the relevant air traffic service unit.
3. Attempt to establish two-way radio contact with the intercepting aircraft,
or the unit in command of that aircraft, by making a general call on the
distress frequency 121.5 MHz.
4. If you have a transponder, squawk 7700 mode A unless otherwise
instructed.
More detailed instructions can be found in VFG ENR 1.12.
There is a requirement that during flight you have a list of the procedures related
to interception, as described in BL. 5-61.
