However, the runway designated by the air traffic service must be used

unless safety considerations indicate that another runway is preferable.

If the pilot cannot use the designated runway, they may request another

runway for landing, and the air traffic service will, if possible, approve

landing on that runway.

1.4.2.3 Landing circuit

When approaching an airfield, an aircraft must keep clear of it unless it is

intending to land.

An aircraft is required to take off and land into the wind unless safety reasons

dictate landing in the opposite direction.

An aircraft maneuvering on or near an airfield is required to:

- Observe all other airfield traffic to avoid collisions.

- Follow or keep clear of the traffic pattern.

- Turn left for all turns during the approach for landing and after takeoff,
unless otherwise instructed by the air traffic service or specified by the

Civil Aviation Administration.
