                   So, you have 40 NM to 60 NM. That is, you have 40 NM to go 1 NM to the

                   right. This corresponds to the fact that at 60 there are 60/40 = 1.5 NM.


                   So, you have to go another 1.5° to the right. So, you have to make a correction

                   of 3  + 1.5  = 4.5° to the right.



                The picture here shows that

                when we go 60 horizontally

                from A (i.e. after a correction

                of 3 ), the distance down to
                the blue dotted line will be
                1.5 NM, i.e. 1.5°.







                This  is  ratio  calculation  and  mental  calculation,  but  you  can  also  use  the

                navigation computer to help you solve the problem.





                Put 40 at 1 (because you have
                40 NM to go 1 NM to the right).


                Then at 60 you can read 1.5.




                9.11.4.4     Changing flight plan


                Remember, if you are or have been "on a picnic" and you cannot meet the times

                you have stated in your ATC flight plan or times you have in the current flight

                plan,  you  must  provide  new  expected  times  for  ATC  if  the  deviation  is  ±  2

                minutes.
