Let's take another example: if the difference is 30 degrees, you should assume
that half of it is from the side.
If the difference between wind direction and runway direction is more than 60
degrees, you should assume that 100% is from the side.
Buildings and tall trees can cause turbulence and wind jumps.
A well-known example is runway 27 at EKVJ, where strong turbulence is formed
during the approach with a wind of 330 degrees. Therefore, landing is done well
inside the runway, where the turbulence is less.
Wind shear often occurs in connection with CB clouds, and the situation can
quickly change from a headwind to flying with a tailwind!
This leads to flying below the recommended glide angle towards the runway,
which can have serious consequences.
