Flight performance and planning

The number of kg is added together, and moments in 100 kgcm (extreme column

on the right) are also added together.

The new moment arm, or the new center of gravity, is found by saying:

                     1200 x 100 / 1064 = 113 cm

The center of gravity without gasoline is ok, since 113 cm lies between 96 and 117

cm. We can now calculate how much fuel we can have, because the maximum
take-off weight is 1200 kg, and we weigh 1064 kg. So there is room for 136 kg, but

                only 107 kg is filled.

The new center of gravity is also calculated to be at 113. It is a good feature that

using gasoline does not significantly move the center of gravity.

Below you can see an empty table where you can calculate the center of gravity

                yourself for other weight ratios.

There are other methods for determining weight and center of gravity, but we will

not go into them here, but if you follow the lesson, you will get a few samples

                here.
