                It is not only a matter of being physically tired, but can also affect decision-

                making, responsiveness and communication, which are necessary for safety.


                Chronic exhaustion is far more serious than acute exhaustion, as the cause is

                often not immediately eliminated.

                Chronic exhaustion can lead to:

                  -  Depression

                  -  Irritability

                  -  Poor judgment

                  -  Slowed reaction time




                Chronic exhaustion requires a thorough and customized treatment plan. It is

                about finding the balance between medical treatment, lifestyle changes and

                psychological support.




                2.6.5.3      Fatigue and stress in connection with take-off and landing


                Fatigue, together with stress, are the conditions that have the greatest impact

                on the pilot's performance - in a negative direction.

                Consider the table below.

























                The table shows percentage distribution of accidents in the different phases of

                the flight.


                We can see that the vast majority of accidents occur in connection with take-
                off and landing. En-route, there are almost no accidents.
