                1.4.6.8 Magnetic course
When flying cross-country from A to B, it is impractical and nearly impossible
to have the correct altimeter setting because the pressure varies from area to
area. Therefore, it has been determined that when passing 3000 feet (transition
altitude), the pressure should be set to the standard pressure of 1013.25 hPa.
In the Copenhagen area, however, the transition altitude is 5000 feet.
                Here is the system.
                                                                               Magnetic Course
All VFR flight levels end with a 5.
                                                                                 degrees degrees
When flying eastbound courses, the number
                before the 5 is odd.
When flying westbound courses, the number
                before the 5 is even.
When determining the course, it is the magnetic Track that should be
                considered, not the heading.
During descent, the local QNH should be set when passing the transition level,
which is the lowest usable flight level on the day.
Only altitudes up to FL 115 are included here. The highest FL for VFR flight is FL
                195.
This system ensures that aircraft flying east use one altitude and those flying in
the opposite direction use another. However, aircraft under climb to a higher
cruising altitude than the one you are flying in will not naturally adhere to these
                procedures, so keep a lookout.
