SAMANTHA PAXTON
PQE: 14 years
Samantha joined DJB in 2016 following a career at Eversheds Sutherland. Her career highlights include advising on: the disposal of a large property portfolio as part of a £373m asset sale for one of the largest operators of restaurants, pubs and bars in the UK; providing the full range of estate management transactions for a national automotive client; and the disposal of several distribution centres for a specialist national trade distribution company.
STEPHANIE SMITH
PQE: 17 years
Stephanie joined DJB 2018 following a career at Norton Rose, K&L Gates and Dundas and Wilson. Stephanie specialises in Planning and Environmental Law. Her experience includes: advising the City of London Corporation on the redevelopment of Spital elds Market; planning, compulsory purchase and judicial review advice to Bedford Borough Council on a new bypass for Bedford; and advice on low-level waste storage and the promotion of a planning application to secure new facilities for the Low-Level Waste Repository at Drigg.
SEAN BULMAN
PQE: 27 years
Sean joined DJB in 2006 following a career at Osborne Clarke. Sean has notably advised on: £20m acquisition of the of ce used as EE’s HQ for an institutional investor, generating almost £1.2m p.a. in rental income; £14m disposal of a site to Waitrose for redevelopment; development of the former Thales site at Gatwick Road, Crawley for Surrey County Council, as lead lawyer.
STUART BOULD
PQE: 41 years
Stuart is a founding member of DJB, formerly of the Government Property Lawyers, Clifford Chance, Dechert and DLA Piper. His career highlights include advising on: the acquisition of new premises for the Attorney General’s Of ce and disposal of their old premises; the  rst Sukuk bond to be entered into by a western government on behalf of HM Treasury; the transfer of the Wave Hub on behalf of BEIS.
SOPHIE PHILIPPON-THOMAS
PQE: 27 years
Sophie joined DJB in 2016 following a career at Freeths LLP and in-house at Leicester City Council. Sophie’s career highlights include advising on the acquisition and subsequent management of a key industrial site as a pension fund investment for HSBC’s former investments arm and the £10m acquisition of a large trade centre for a local authority from a major UK property investment fund, guaranteeing rent exceeding £1m p.a.
TERESA KAMPPARI BAKER
PQE: 26 years
Teresa joined DJB in 2019 following a career at Pinsent Masons, Gowling WLG, Addleshaw Goddard and in- house at John Lewis. Teresa has advised on more than 100 development acquisitions and disposals of Waitrose and John Lewis shops, of ces and warehouses. She also notably managed a team in connection with the disposal of over 200 restaurants for a major hotel chain and acted for numerous other retailers and leisure operators including Associated British Foods (Primark), Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Whitbread and Shearing Hotels.
