5) Death at the Altar of Burnt Offering

After opening the gate, the first thing that comes into sight
is the altar of burnt offering. Fire is already burning at the

altar of burnt offering. A slain animal is laid at the altar of
burnt of-fering. And as all is consumed, only ashes remain.

Now it is your turn. Climb up the altar of burnt offering by
your own effort. Climb and take a stand on the altar of burnt

offering. Feel the fire burning. This fire is not of this world.
This isn’t some fire from a stove, or made with agas. It is the

Fire of God. This fire has been kindled by God.
The fire of God consumes you. As the fire of God begins

to consume you, ask for your ego to be burned. Burn the ego
that once professed yourself as best. And burn that self confi-

dence. As you burn the flesh and mind, then you will begin to
sense the spirit reviving. Take a look at those ashes that once

was your flesh and mind. Feel your spirit that has been set
free from the flesh and mind.

And, in this way, you can come down from the altar of
burnt offering.
