Here is my attempt at lyrics for a Christmas song, I decided to go for something which when melody
and music are added will be along the lines of classic up beat songs like those by Slade, Wizzard and
the ilk.
How the lyrics for my Christmas song came about is quite simple. Over the last few years a number of
the No1 Christmas songs really have had nothing to do with the festive season mainly due to X-Fac-
tor so I thought it would be a good idea to write something traditional with an up beat feel but also an
important message which I hope the lyrics convey.
I also write and am vocalist for the ‘4 Owld Codgers’ country band and all of the members have been
friends and known each other since school (we are now all over 60 years of age) but only been
performing for the last few years. We have had airplay with stations in America and done well in
International song writing competitions (4th and 7th). I collaborate with other artists too. Mainly
Susanne Waldbrunner from Germany,but also Knoll Buddy an artist in America.
