The lyric ended up receiving a 4 Star rating it’s going to end up sounding great and may
(out of 5 stars) in the Lyrics Only UK be appreciated particularly by the legions of
Songwriting contest category, and was listed Doctor Who fans!

as a ‘Commended Entry’. It’s the first time
that I’ve entered that contest, so I’m pretty About Simon Wright
happy with that. It’s encouraged me to try it
again in the future. Simon is an Irish lyric writer who lives in

It was great fun working on alternative lyrics www.LyricSlinger.co.uk
for a melody that is so well known and and follow him
memorable. Gallifrey wasn’t the only lyric @TheLyricSlinger on Twitter,
that Elizabeth and I came up with. Between
us we must have ended up with four or five and on Facebook
        alternative sets of lyrics. https://www.facebook.com/TheLyricSlinger/

Many lyric writers spend the majority of their Related links:
time working from a lyrics first approach,
with a complete blank canvass at the start. LyricSlinger website:

That has its merits but knowing the melody, www.LyricSlinger.co.uk
having it clearly imprinted in my head, meant
that I was able to more quickly come up with UK Songwriters contest website:
different sets of lyrics than I might normally https://www.songwritingcontest.co.uk/
        have done.

And working with another person on a lyric www.Kompoz.com
was something that was pretty new for me as
well, and I’d thoroughly recommend it. It’s a

good way of generating additional ideas,
getting feedback on lyrics, and makes the
lyric writing experience less of a solitary
affair. It’s an approach that I’ve also been
taking as part of a song collaboration contest
that I’ve been participating in, and that has
        also been really positive.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth and I are also working
with a couple of musicians, on the Kompoz
music collaboration website, to turn our

Gallifrey lyrics into an actual song. I think
