Al David
BAD ADavid, is solo for the first time in his musical career
fter 8 years the California-raised recording artist, Al
after deciding to further embrace his country music roots.
You could say I’ve “gone country™, but that’s always been a
big part of me since I was a little kid growing up in a small
town and listening to my mom blast country music on our
way to school every morning...
It was 2012 when Al decided to try and make music his
career afterentering a songwriting competition with his
friend and music partner. Before then, Al was always
involved in music throughout his time in grade school,
playing the trumpet for the school bands. But, you could
say that singing was always something Al enjoyed ever
since he was a child. The guitar playing started in high
school when his friend pushed him to learn, saying it
would go hand-in hand with his love for singing.
Al David hopes to make a grand entrance into the world of
country music, bringing a soulful voice and catchy hooks
with his first single titled, Bad “The idea for Bad came to
me while I was working at Starbucks serving coffee to a lot
of sweet girls. Throughout my life I’ve always embodied
the whole “nice guys finish last™ phrase, and this song was
a way to express my frustration with that. I guess I always
thought it’d be fun to be that jerk guy that always gets what
he wants for a change. Almost like I could put on a
costume and be some suave, smooth-talking devil for a
night.
So, more than anything the song is a fantasy, as opposed to
what most might think is a true life occurrence. Through
the song I really wanted to evoke the feeling of being ˜bad
to the bone™ in the way of having undoubtable confidence
and just not being able to help it so much that it just comes
out against your will.
The opening guitar line gives the song that edgy cool feel
from the start and then the smooth flow of the lyrics comes
in to show the suave confidence. When the chorus hit
the energy is at its highest mirroring the feeling of losing
control.
