"Leah stepped up and played an unbelievable game," Orrico said. "She's had a great season and has been
very consistent." The Cardinals took a 1-0 lead on sophomore forward Paige Mautner's goal. Mautner, who has
been clutch all season for the Cardinals, was set up nicely for her goal by junior forward Erika Hvolbeck, who
delivered a well-executed cross approximately five minutes into the second half.
"We felt really good after that goal, which gave us some momentum," Orrico said. "But Wilton has been a buzz-
saw the last couple of years. They're a really tough team that you have to stay on."

The Warriors, who dropped a 2-1 decision to Greenwich on Wednesday, tied the score at 1-1 on sophomore
Susie Clasby's goal with 7:12 left in the second half. With the score tied after regulation play, what followed
were two 7-on-7 overtime periods, with the Warriors prevailing. Orrico credited senior quad-captain Anne
Dunster and senior Katie Renz for lead the team's strong defensive play.

"Anne had a monster game on defense and Renz really sparked us," said Orrico, whose squad was led up front
by junior Kate Palastro, Mautner and Hvolbeck.

Wilton plays fourth-seeded New Canaan in
the semifinal round. Greenwich, meanwhile,
has some time to prepare for the
state tournament.

"Hopefully, our team can build off this and
use it as a confidence-boost," Orrico said.
"We gave the top team in the FCIAC two very
tough games and we're going into the state
tournament playing really strong."
