       Wilton: Three More Victims Claimed

       By J.B. Cozens

After a 1-0 win over Lauralton Hall last Thursday at home, in its closest game of the season thus far, the Wilton
High field hockey team returned to form with a pair of lopsided victories. The Warriors (6-0) beat Fairfield
Ludlow on Friday at home and won at Danbury on Monday, both by scores of 6-0. See Collage pgs. 1-2.

Things get more challenging this week, when Wilton travels to play at Lakeland, N.Y., on Saturday night at 7pm.
Lake land, the five-time defending New York Class B state champ, is 9-0 and has already beaten Darien, 2-0. The
Hornets, who have outscored the opposition 66-1 this season, have won 39 straight games.
“It will be a big test,” said head coach Deirdre Hynes. “We’ll see what happens and take it from there.”

The Warriors also host Trumbull on Friday at 4pm and travel to Westhill on Monday for a 4:30pm game. In
Thursday’s rematch of last year’s Class M state title game, the Warriors again edged Lauralton Hall, 1-0, Bridget
Ward’s goal in the first half was the only goal of the game.

On Monday, six different players scored in Wilton’s 6-0 win at Danbury, Goals scorers were Maddie Duffy,
Ward, Godin, Olivia Deluca, Delaney Chase and Katherine Campbell. See Collage pgs. 3-5.
