The Oxford Tutorial College Certi cate is an accredited quali cation of achievement and participation in the English language allowing student to discover their own abilities within a second language.
The learning materials are created by an academic team from London who are supported by regional consultants who work to make sure our exam complements the English learning in participation schools.
The Common European Framework of References for language: learning, teaching and assess- ment (CEFR) is a guideline used to describe achievements of learners of foreign languages. There are a number of levels which identify the level of language skills which the learner currently has. All grades are split into three mail levels consisting of Basic User which includes A1 beginner level and A2 elementary level. It then continues through to learners becoming independent users including a B1 intermediate level and a B2 upper intermediate level. Finally, there is the pro cient user which consists of C1 pro ciency or advanced, and C2 which is mastery. The CEFR assesses all areas of language learning including reading, reading com- prehension, listening, listening comprehension, use of language, writing and speaking.
