Update
Some people have even volunteered to do adventurous challenges like jumping out of planes to drum up cash.
Longfield Hospice was very appreciative of the staff who helped out in the hospice gardens during Give and Gain Day on the 19th September. We are gearing up for another busy year in 2020.
Cal B - Ayrshire Cancer Support
Since entering into our partnership with Ayrshire Cancer Support, we have actively taken part in organising various initiatives, from the Great Scottish 10K Run, to prize draws and Spot the Ball. We have also marked key calendar dates and created a few of our own with a Burger Day, Whisky Raffle and Pancake Day.
Everyone at Cal B has been involved - baking, buying, donating, eating, running, selling - it has been a massive team effort. When we started our fundraising journey, we thought we would be struggling to reach our target of £500 so we are overwhelmed to have raised £2,500.
This support group provides a lifeline to many people in the rural parts of Ayrshire who could not attend hospital appointments if it did not exist.
We have lots more planned as we approach Christmas and the New Year.
PS Northampton - Air Ambulance
he team has raised over £7,600 for Air Ambulance hich will fund seven lifesaving flights.
e held a number of activities during the summer ncluding our infamous quiz. Ian Kelland was our
rilliant Quizmaster, putting 13 teams of five through heir mental paces. The champions were the “The Ian
elland Fan Club” - of course it wasn’t a fix!
e also went over the edge and took part in abseil hallenges. In addition, we hosted a ‘spooktacular’
alloween lunch and pumpkin carving competition and e have exciting plans for 2020.
PS Chandlers Ford - Newfields Gardening
are in the Community
o date we have raised £1,400 and helped Newfields ardening Care in the Community deliver physical
mprovements at their premises. In partnership with aig Engineering, we removed the old gate post and eplaced it with a metal one that will last for years to
ome. Abbey Fixing donated gate fittings, supporting heel and concrete to mount the metal post. A fantastic
utcome with everyone working together to make a eal difference in the local community.
The monthly quizzes have proved to be a winning formula. Following last December’s Nerf War, there was a demand for a ‘round two’ in 2019. A Christmas go kart event is also scheduled. We are looking forward to building on our efforts in 2020.
Crucials - Bloodwise
The Crucials team continues to fundraise for their nominated charity Bloodwise through sponsored weight
loss programmes, prize draws and the sale of snacks and light bites. So far, the team has raised £600 and will continue their fundraising efforts in the New Year.
