2016 991.1 GT3 RS
With the advent of the 991 GT3 RSs, Porsche took off the previously restrained production limits and began to manufacture what they could sell. The 2016 model had a run of 4,520 units, of which 1,530 were for North America. Weight was tamped down by carbon-fiber front fenders, hood, engine lid and wing and an exotic magnesium roof panel. Its 4.0-liter engine produced 500 bhp and 338 lb-ft of torque, driven through a seven speed PDK (automatic) gearbox to center-lock wheels.
2019 991.2 GT2 RS
Both the GT2 RS and GT3 RS feature the same aluminum-intensive “wide body” Type 991.2 chassis shared with the 911 Turbo S. Its mass reduction is impressive – the GT2 RS weighs 3,241 lbs, while the GT3 RS is even lighter – just over 3,150 lbs. Hung on the tail end of the GT2 RS is a twin-turbocharged, 3.8-liter flat-six that is rated at 700 bhp and 553 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful, fastest 911-based automobile ever built.
