1969 ISUZU BELLETT MX1600 In 1968, Isuzu needed two concept cars for the Tokyo Motor Show and they turned
to Ghia. Its recently recruited chief designer Tom Tjaarda obliged by designing two concepts, of which one was a mid-engine sports car,
the other a sports wagon. The sports car version was the Isuzu Bellett MX1600, a stylish mid-engine two-seater with a sharp front end,
distinctive design features, and a balanced, sporty appearance. Tjaarda saw it as a precursor to the De Tomaso Pantera. TOM TJAARDA
