One very sick patient after cardiac surgery spent weeks

on the floor for shortness of breath and lack of appetite

and body strength. I was his nurse many times. I

suggested the team to consider pericardial effusion and
had echo to rule out it. Patient was found to have

pericardial effusion by echo. Then patient had

pericardial drain. After that he got stronger and stronger

with our holistic medical, surgical and bedside care.

Finally he was discharged home. A couple month later,

he came to the floor and walked to everybody to give

his gratefulness.
