SA VOR THE MOMENTS
A crucial part of being happy is being present! We have to be able to fully enjoy the precious moments that we are awarded in this life; life is only the sum of many, many such moments.
Just as you savor a meal, you can savor all that your senses have to offer. The color of the sky on a summer day. The comforting sound of your favorite music or the familiar voice of a loved one. The sensation of a cool breeze against your face. A hot beverage on a cold wintery day. The smile of a patient who appreciates having you as their physician.
Savoring life allows you to experience and enjoy what is right in front of you, available to you free of charge. It’s a way of shifting from thoughts about things you want to be different to developing more satisfaction with what actually is.
Be present: each day, make a point of savoring at least one experience. Spend 60 seconds taking it in.
